Good for Ninkasi Brewing for supporting the arts.

Society needs to recognize that the creative craft brewing folks at Ninkasi Brewing in Eugene, Oregon have been doing a great job not only brewing fine IPA beers, but with their success, they are giving back to the world in note worthy ways.

I’m not going into details here, but you can certainly read about how cool the folks at Ninkasi Brewing are at the above or below links.  As a beer drinking, guitar/bass plucking, drum beating, bad singing song writer with bad hair I personally wanted to take the time this holiday season to say ‘thank you’ for what you do. More folks should use this business model. Maximum respect Ninkasi and Cheers.

Keep up the good work.

Aldo Restaurante – Vatican City, Italia

alod

The first place to eat the Dude of Food came across after exiting the Vatican City museum is this sidewalk cafe called ALDO.

After much walking, I was ready to sit down and have some nutritious authentic Italian lunch and the Aldo Restaurant provided it for me. The thoughtful staff, cool service and really good food left me feeling blessed and content and the meal was very reasonably priced.

“I would eat here all the time, if I was the Pope” exclaimed the Dude of Food.

The Dude of Food presents- Alfredo

alfredo p3

So when I craved pasta with alfredo sauce I just took a half pound of bacon and pan fried it. After draining the pan I added some onions and finely chopped garlic. Fresh broccoli was added and then the frozen peas. Later I added a jar of alfredo and a small container of another brand of alfredo sauce and some milk. Add a dash of salt, some pepper, some basil or mint or whatever you like and bring to a simmer.

Add penne noodles and enjoy.

Top with cheese as preferred.

The Dude of Food loves Barcelona’s Damm Estrella beer

Barcelona is a fun place.

Good food, sangria, the sea, fun people and beer!

The folks at Damm Estrella beer are doing things right.

The Dude of Food likes the Adria’s recipes on the 6 pack holders.

Thank you.

The Dude of Food likes Leberkasse und kaffe

A good way to start a leisurely Saturday is with a Leberkasse from the downtown LA Grand Central food court.

They need to do something about the parking though. The street is $4.00 an hour and the lot across the street is $5.00 flat. Can’t imagine what it’s like on weekday but it must be madness. Probably not best suited for folks who are on a budget or quick lunch break unless you can walk from your office.
