The Dude of Food likes IN-N-OUT
The Dude of Food is a big fan of In-n-Out burger. Ever wonder why they are so good? Is the quality of the meat? Is it the consistency in quality? Is the care they take in customer service? Is it the fresh iced tea and clean bathrooms?
Whatever it is, these employees learn at the IN-N-OUT University in Baldwin Park.
Around the corner is a replica of one of the originals, seen below. Instead of millions served they advertise ‘NO DELAY’. My how times have changed.
The Dude of Food shares Micheladas
The first photo shows how they serve Micheladas in the streets of San Miguel de Allende.
A liter styrofoam cup filled with all the fixings of a great refreshing drink for 50 pesos.
They have this stick in them that has some red picante stuff stuck to it that you use to mix your drink.
The second photo shows the ingredients.
For best results use fresh limes and skip the bottled lime juice.
I use Red Rooster or Pete’s hot sauce and not put too much ice.

If you don’t know about this spot then you probably shouldn’t, but I have to tell you that after my last trip to Mexico I have become a big fan of the michelada.
It just so happens that they make a good one here. Pricey but good.
The 50 year anniversary party was awesome.
the Dude of Food Morning Coffee Mantra
COFFEE
by Peter Pearce
The scent of the brew wafts through the house and wraps itself into the cool dark morning air.
My senses tingle when the aroma arrives at my nostrils and the pulse of excitement runs through my body reminding me of another beautiful day that is about to begin.
I hear the final pumps of water as the machine gasps and sighs and steam seeps out the seam at the top.
As I turn the corner towards the kitchen the green power light on the machines front penetrates the night as strongly as the scent of the brew itself. I see it’s green glow in the form of a dot at the base of the source of the scent, resonating small and bright in the distance.
The chosen mug stands by attentively waiting to fulfill its duty as holder of the vital morning fluid. The organic milk with an expiration date way into the future stands nearby to assist in the control of the fluid. The machine gives up its final gasp of steam as the last of the water runs through its process. The dark, warm, effervescent brew sits idly in the glass container patiently waiting to be consumed.
The hand that rocks my cradle pours the brown joy into the attentive mug and then proceeds to top it off with a splash of vitamin D milk. It’s at this point that I begin to think things are going well.
When the brew touches my lips and the heat from it rises into my face i begin to feel more alive. Then the warm brew hits my stomach and on the way down lets my body know a beautiful new day is about to begin and it is time to get into the moment and to lead the masses.
My opportunity to live and make the world a better place begins now. Today is going to be another great day.
Authors note; Without coffee my mantra sounds whinier.

Barney’s Heritage Cuvee
2012
Limited release of 5491 cases
While sipping this wine, the Dude of Food felt like he had obtained a bargain. This bottle radiates heritage. From the moment you handle the bottle time slows down a little and you begin to feel the serenity of this creation. This is no fast lane wine. This wine exudes the tranquility, longevity and educated qualities of a chateau in the countryside owned by a university scholar/author. The flavors do not jump out of the glass as a sophisticated lady would not sit with her legs open. The characteristics of this wine are more subdued. They have a sense of time and are not in a hurry to get to the end. The delicate balance of depth in fruitiness, richness of earth tones and uniqueness of flavor are well balanced and make this an enjoyable bottle of wine at a reasonable price if you can find it.
The Dude of Food says Best Paella Ever!
La Taberna Gallega located in the marina in Barcelona, Spain is incredible. The room gets full but the vibe is energetic and upbeat. The staff is super cool and fun. If you are in the Barcelona marina area come on over. There are many places to eat in the marina but I chose this one and was completely satisfied. Best paella and sangria of my life. Take the time and go here.

The Dude of Food likes Company 77 Fire Truck Pizza
What could be better than great homemade pizza delivered on a fire truck that has beer on tap? This place has a really good thing going.
The Dude of Food had this truck come to our Christmas party last year and it was well worth it. If you live in the southern California area then you need to experience this.
The staff is super cool. The truck is fun and has a photo booth and beer taps. The pizza is hand crafted, refined and excellent. This is an awesome food truck!

Good Los Angeles Food Trailer
The Dude of Food believes if you live in Los Angeles and are looking for a good food truck to cater your party then you may want to call this phone number. I believe he said his name is Noel and he said this number rings to his house. Speak slowly as his English is not perfect. I tried the tacos and menudo and was pleasantly surprised with both. The quality is good and the prices are reasonable. Win/Win situation here.
The Dude of Food is not connected to this vendor and gains nothing from this endorsement.
